In this blog post, I’d like to share a network marketing tip that I discovered shortly after becoming an independent business owner (IBO) and building my first team.
As a person with a downline to support and motivate, I’ve learned a lot about human behaviour, and one thing I’ve noticed on a regular basis is that many people struggle with a CONSISTENCY OF FOCUS.
So, today’s network marketing tip that I’d like to share with you has helped me maintain and improve focus, and my hope is that sharing this technique will help you become more successful as well.
Consistency of Focus is Key
Focus demands a decision to commit to seeing something through to completion. If you become distracted, how focused are you really?
So, why do we allow ourselves to be side-tracked or, worse, completely derailed when we are saying to ourselves, “I’m focused or committed?”
Could it be that if we put too much emphasis on “doing something,” we won’t necessarily get results, and we’ll lose motivation to keep doing it?
Successful people do a number of things to stay focused and get to where they are.
It all begins with knowing exactly what they want and having enough desire, ambition, and persistence to pursue that one thing until they obtain it.
THAT is the key.
Many people allow their mistakes or bumps in the road while performing tasks to sap their energy or become reasons to abandon their pursuit of the success they so desperately desire.
Setbacks are simply learning experiences for successful people, and mistakes are necessary stepping stones on the path to success.
However, one of the primary reasons most network marketers fail is that they have never decided what they want and made the commitment to pursue it.
They never imprinted the end result in their brain, heart, or “being” so that nothing could stop them.
That’s where you should be… Understand your “WHY!”
Anything worthwhile requires concentration, commitment, and the determination to see it through.
So, How Do You Turn Things Around and Achieve This?
Here is my challenge to you.
Take out a piece of paper. Begin by writing down everything you want to have, do, or achieve in your life.
You can even go so far as to create a dream/vision board of exactly what you want and want to achieve…
Now I want you to write down “what your goals are.” You see, it is far more effective from a subconscious neurological standpoint to handwrite these down than using a smartphone app or Word document.
To help you define your goals, write down your answers to these three questions to help channel your thoughts.
1. Do you know exactly what you want?
2. Have you decided what you want to pursue?
3. Do you have a list of goals you want to achieve in your life?
I am perfectly aware of how simple the whole “make a goal, write it down” exercise sounds.
But here’s the thing though:
I work much better when I’m motivated and inspired than when I’m not.
I’m not sure how it happens, but as soon as we put all of our desires “on paper,” the magic begins to work. It gives us fresh energy and motivates us to complete the tasks at hand.
It focuses the mind, but it also causes us to think more about RESULTS rather than activities. If you focus on the outcomes, your thoughts will become more inventive, you’ll be more motivated to carry out the task, and you’ll unquestionably achieve the outcomes.
People will continue to repeat the process once they see the desired results.
It’s worth the try.
