I recently took a trip to visit my 93-year-old aunt in East London, and on my return journey, I made an unexpected stop at London Blackfriars station. I was struck by the stunning view of the River Thames through the glass from the platform.
The first photo below captures the beauty of London architecture, with Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf Tower on the horizon line, The Shard building, and skyscrapers in “The City” shown on the left, the pedestrian bridge in the foreground leading to the Tate Modern on the right. Just out of the shot is the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral.
I was particularly drawn to the contrast between the old and the new, the historic bridge and the City’s traditional architecture juxtaposed beautifully with the sleek, modern skyscrapers.
If you’re looking for a great view of London, I highly recommend stopping by Blackfriars station. It’s a perfect spot to take in the city’s skyline and capture some amazing photos on your phone.
Here are some other things to do in London:
- Visit the Tower of London
- See a show in the West End
- Go shopping on Oxford Street

I hope you enjoy your time in London!
