So, I’ve got some exciting news to share! My little corner of the internet has officially moved house. After years of feeling a little squeezed by my previous hosting provider’s renewal fees, I decided the time had come to pack up my digital belongings and find a new place to call home sweet home.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. “But why move, Ollie? Your old place was fine, wasn’t it?” Well, yes and no. While the shared hosting service was decent, the prices seemed to be creeping up every year, and I had a sneaking suspicion that it had something to do with that newfangled AI Business tool they added to the admin panel. I mean, it’s probably great, but I’m not sure I need AI included with my hosting package when I get a bundled customised version tailored to my industry elsewhere.
So, will I be sticking around?
Only time will tell. I’ve been pleased with Hostinger so far, and it’s only been two weeks. But, as the saying goes, proof is in the pudding. In six months, I might return here with an in-depth review of how they’ve performed.
And while I’m on the subject, I’ve got a little complaint. Their referral program terms are a bit of a bummer. They only let me share my referral link on social media, not on my blog or YouTube channel. Seems like they’re a bit scared of too much new business. Maybe they’re just trying to keep their servers from melting down. Who knows?
So if you want the referral link drop the word Hostinger in the notes here and I’ll get back to you through the self-service form on the platform of your choice.
P.S. Just a quick note: The featured image for this post was my first attempt at using AI to create art. I know it’s not great, but I thought it was kind of funny.
