I know from my own experiences that working a full-time job while running a busy part-time home business makes managing time wisely and effectively very challenging. Excellent time management skills are invaluable, especially when trying to manage two career paths at the same time. There are other things in life besides just work.
If you want the opportunity to experience and enjoy other activities in life, getting your time management under control is a priority.
It’s all about prioritizing, focusing, and being productive, rather than simply being busy.
So here are my six time management tips that will help to guarantee that your time is spent more wisely:
Focus on Being Productive
You can spend a lot of time actively working, yet accomplish relatively little. Being busy is about motion. Being productive is about results.
To do two things at once is to do neither.

Stop Multi-tasking
The ability to multi-task has been lauded for decades, but recent research is showing that multi-tasking is a huge mistake. Some research has shown that focusing on one task at a time increases productivity and performance by 100%.
Have a Daily List of Objectives and To-Do Lists
Priorities and needs change every day. Start each day with a new list of priorities. Any incomplete items can be moved to tomorrow’s list, but only if they’re still priorities.
Work is hard. Distractions are plentiful. And time is short.

Make an effort to Eliminate Distractions and Interruptions
There’s always something else that needs your urgent attention. However, you’ll get more done if you can stick to the important tasks before allowing other things to grab your attention.
Make Decisions with the Time Expenditure in Mind
Working full-time and running a part-time home business requires focusing on the time required by certain activities. Quick decision-making skills are essential.
Delegate and Leverage Systems Whenever Possible
Whether it’s at the day job or the home business, delegate as much as you can. Don’t try to do it all by yourself, enlist the help of others when you can.
So that’s it for this blog post. Managing a full-time job and a part-time home business can be challenging, but many people are able to manage both successfully.
Focus on doing the most important tasks first, minimize the distractions around you, and let others and systems help you. You’ll get more done in less time with greater results in your home business!
Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do.
